RoCk tHe WaLk~Yard Sale to Benefit JDRF

Look, even KRISTEN STEWART supports JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes! After not posting for over a year, I'm here to tell you about our Huge YARD SALE that is this Saturday, July 17th, 2010. It's going to be at Britnee's house located at 550 East 3230 North in Provo up by Timpview High School. It will begin at 7:00am and go until it's gone (or we're too tired to stand up).

Britnee will have some stuff there she's trying to sell from the closing of Bloomer's
and it's way cute stuff.

And, of course, if you have some stuff that you'd like to donate to the yard sale, please bring it over to my house or call me and I'll come pick it up. We want the good stuff, please. The stuff that will fetch a good price. After all, it's for a GREAT CAUSE!! (Our family goal is to raise $2,000.00 and the Utah County goal is to raise $200,000!!)

Thanks so much!

**The Crazy World of Ebay**

I love Ebay. It, along with Facebook, is another great time-waster. I love to see what crazy stuff people put on there. Seemingly, the uglier or wackier the item, the more it gets bid on. Here is an ugly vase I ran across. I put the link on, too. It should be fun to see how much it actually goes for...

Facebook is robbing me...

...of all my BLOGGING time!

But, I can't stop Facebooking. It's as addicting as blogging was at first. And trying to find a witty status post for FB is draining my creativity! Soon...soon FB will get tiring and I'll be back to blogging.

K-K-K-Kaden~Wonderful Kaden!

Kaden came running into the house one day begging McKay and I to come see what he had done outside. When we got out there, this is what we'd found...Good thing our neighbor's are good sports.
We had a huge ordination party a couple of weeks after Kaden turned 12. Here is a picture of all of the men that helped ordain Kaden into the Aaronic Priesthood. We love our family!

Grandpa Mark imparting some of his knowledge to Zach.

Happy birthday to you...Happy birthday to you...Happy birthday dearest Kaden...

Big Man Jaxson~~~The World's BEST Eater! Good thing we had the yummiest steak ever!

Little Avi Bleu...We love you!

Kaden~~~I love you very much. You are such a great young man that is happy, obedient (for the most part), kind and self-motivated. Thank you for choosing the right!

Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself...

You know, I seem to have an excess of "Durr" in my life. For instance, yesterday I left the house without my bra on and the day before that I forgot to brush my teeth before leaving for church. DURR!! Well, again today I had another "Durr Moment". Explanation: I swim on Tuesdays at the gym. It seems to me that there are many more MEN that swim than woman. I was the only woman swimming for the entire hour I was there. For the first 20 minutes I had a lane all to myself (bliss). Then the rest of the time I had to share my lane with men. At the end of my swim, I pulled myself out of the pool and happened to look down and see a seam in my crotch. "What?" I thought. So I started looking around and realized that I had my swimming suit on inside out the entire time...the tag sticking out the back and everything. So, my thought for the day is: Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself (along with everyone else in my case!)

Oakley's New "Beautiful, Beautiful..."

We decided to get Oakley's ears pierced on Saturday. We prepared her verbally and mechanically for the occasion, even going as far as putting numbing creme on her earlobes so she wouldn't feel anything. She was so very excited. Here she is sitting in the "big girl" chair awaiting her "new pretty earrings."
Marking the spots...

I gave her some of the most hideous gold butterfly earrings to distract her with...

Two piercers piercing at the same time...great in theory...

Did the numbing creme not work? Was she just afraid of the sound and/or that McKay was holding her head so she wouldn't move? Read below to find out...

The crying lasted about .2 milliseconds after I gave her a mirror and she saw her "Beautiful, beautiful earrings...
The rest of the story...from the get-go, the right ear looked puckered and red. She wouldn't let us touch it or even get near it even when we told her we'd have to take the earring out unless she let us clean it. Sunday, more concern. What to do? Monday, took earring out and come to find out, the girl that pierced her on the right side totally pierced her in the cartilage and missed her lobe altogether. FURY!! So, I called the manager at the place we got her pierced at and asked what to do. Interestingly enough, she can be re-pierced within 24 hours of taking the earring out (if Oakley will do it again) and of course they will have their #1 piercer there to do the job right this time. (Knock on wood). Vanity? Probably.
